Who's Missing: Saliba doubtful, Martinelli out for Arsenal's trip to Burnley

Gabriel Martinelli has been ruled out and William Saliba is doubtful for Arsenal’s Premier League trip to Burnley, manager Mikel Arteta confirmed on Friday.

Arsenal will be without winger Gabriel Martinelli, who suffered an injury during the Gunners’ 1-0 win over Crystal Palace last weekend. The Brazilian limped off the pitch and has not recovered in time for Saturday’s clash at Turf Moor.

Meanwhile, William Saliba remains a doubt after being substituted at halftime in the same match due to a knock. Arteta stated in his pre-match press conference:

> “Martinelli is still out. Saliba, we have to wait and see. We have another training session this afternoon,” Arteta said. “The rest are getting closer, but not available yet”.

Both players also missed Arsenal’s midweek League Cup win over Brighton, and their absence could test the squad’s depth as the Gunners aim to maintain their lead at the top of the Premier League table.

Arsenal fans will be hoping for a swift return for Saliba, whose presence has been vital in the heart of defense. The Frenchman’s potential absence could see Jakub Kiwior or Takehiro Tomiyasu slot into the backline alongside Gabriel Magalhães.

Burnley, currently struggling near the relegation zone, will look to capitalize on any defensive vulnerabilities. However, Arsenal’s recent form and depth in attack—with Bukayo Saka, Leandro Trossard, and Eddie Nketiah—still make them strong favorites.
