Mbappe at the double as Real Madrid crush Valencia to extend lead at top of LaLiga

⚽ Kylian Mbappé scored twice as Real Madrid thrashed Valencia 4-0 at the Santiago Bernabéu, extending their lead at the top of LaLiga to seven points.

Real Madrid delivered a dominant performance on Saturday, with Mbappé netting in the 18th minute from the penalty spot and again in the 31st minute with a clinical finish from an Arda Güler cross. The French star now has 13 goals in LaLiga this season, continuing his blistering form and solidifying his status as one of the league’s top scorers.

Jude Bellingham added a third just before halftime with a powerful strike from the edge of the box, and Álvaro Carreras sealed the rout in the 82nd minute. The win marked Real Madrid’s 10th victory in 11 league matches, pushing them seven points clear of Villarreal and Barcelona, who play later this weekend.

Manager Xabi Alonso fielded a full-strength lineup despite an upcoming Champions League clash with Liverpool, emphasizing the importance of maintaining momentum. Vinícius Júnior returned to the starting XI after apologizing for his reaction to being substituted in El Clásico last week.

Valencia, meanwhile, struggled to contain Madrid’s attacking trio and failed to register a single shot on target. The loss leaves them languishing near the bottom of the table with just two wins in their last eight matches.
