⚽ Luis Díaz scored twice and was sent off as 10-man Bayern Munich held on to beat Paris Saint-Germain 2-1, extending their perfect Champions League run and dealing the holders their first defeat of the season

In a fiery Group Stage clash at the Parc des Princes, Luis Díaz was both the hero and the villain. The Colombian winger struck twice in the first half—first in the 4th minute after pouncing on a rebound, then again in the 32nd minute by dispossessing Marquinhos and finishing coolly. But just before halftime, Díaz was shown a straight red card for a reckless challenge on Achraf Hakimi, who left the pitch in tears.

🔥 First-Half Fireworks

Bayern dominated the opening 45 minutes, with Serge Gnabry hitting both posts and Josip Stanišić having a goal ruled out for offside. PSG thought they had pulled one back through Ousmane Dembélé, but VAR ruled it out. The French winger later limped off with an injury, compounding PSG’s woes.

Despite being reduced to 10 men, Bayern defended resolutely in the second half. PSG managed to pull one back through João Neves in the 67th minute, but couldn’t break through again. The win marks Bayern’s 16th consecutive victory in all competitions, a club record under manager Vincent Kompany.

🧠 Kompany’s Reaction

> “We showed character, discipline, and quality,” Kompany said post-match. “Luis knows he let the team down, but he also won us the game.”

The result puts Bayern top of their Champions League group and sends a strong message to Europe’s elite. PSG, meanwhile, will be sweating over the fitness of Hakimi and Dembélé as they regroup for their next fixture.
