'I'm really happy' - Leny Yoro insists he has 'no regrets' over Man Utd move despite Real Madrid interest

ðŸ”´ Leny Yoro says he’s “really happy” at Manchester United and has “no regrets” about turning down Real Madrid to join the Premier League giants.

Despite a turbulent debut season at Old Trafford, the 19-year-old French defender has reaffirmed his commitment to United, stating that his decision to join the club in July 2024 was the right one. Yoro, who arrived from Lille for £52 million, was heavily courted by Real Madrid but opted for a move to England instead.

> “This is some choice you need to make in your career,” Yoro told Goal. “I’ve had a couple of clubs, not just Madrid or United. I had a lot of clubs. Today my choice is Manchester, so I’m really happy with this.”

Yoro endured a difficult first season, struggling with injuries as United finished 15th in the Premier League and lost the Europa League final to Tottenham. But under new manager Ruben Amorim, he has become a regular starter, featuring in all 10 league matches this season and starting seven.

> “I know some people talked about this last year because of the results,” Yoro added. “I can understand them, but honestly, it’s my choice, my career. I know what I’m doing, and I’m just going to keep working.”

Yoro’s maturity and composure have impressed Amorim, who has leaned on the young centre-back as part of a revamped defensive unit. With United now climbing the table and showing signs of cohesion, Yoro’s decision is beginning to pay off.
