'I'll Definitely Return' – Zidane Outlines Plan to Be France Boss

Zinedine Zidane has made his intentions clear: he wants to coach the French national team. Speaking at the Trento Sports Festival, the legendary midfielder and former Real Madrid manager confirmed his desire to return to coaching, with Les Bleus firmly in his sights.

“I will definitely return,” Zidane said. “I’d like to be the head coach of the France team one day.”

With Didier Deschamps set to step down after the 2026 World Cup, Zidane is widely seen as the natural successor.

🧠 A Tactical Genius in Waiting

Zidane’s managerial résumé is short but glittering: three consecutive Champions League titles, two La Liga crowns, and multiple FIFA Club World Cups with Real Madrid. Yet he’s been out of management since 2021, turning down offers from Bayern Munich, Juventus, and even the U.S. national team.

“I miss the locker room, the competition, the emotion,” Zidane said.

🇫🇷 A Return to National Glory?

Zidane won the World Cup with France in 1998 and the Euro in 2000. His connection to the national team runs deep, and fans have long speculated about his return in a managerial role.

“It’s not about winning—it’s about passion and transmitting something to the players,” he added.

With France boasting a golden generation led by Kylian Mbappé, Zidane’s arrival could usher in a new era.
