Black Stars Rout Central African Republic to Move Within Sight of 2026 World Cup

Ghana took a giant step toward World Cup qualification with a resounding 5–0 victory over the Central African Republic in Meknes. The Black Stars now need just one point from their final match against Comoros to secure a spot in the 2026 tournament.

⚽ Goals Galore

Mohammed Salisu opened the scoring with a header in the 20th minute. Thomas Partey, Alexander Djiku, Jordan Ayew, and Kamaldeen Sulemana added second-half goals in a dominant display.

Coach Otto Addo praised the team’s intensity: “We were ruthless. That’s the mentality we need to take to the World Cup.”

🧠 Tactical Brilliance

Ghana’s midfield trio of Partey, Kudus, and Djiku controlled the tempo, while Ayew’s movement created space for Sulemana to exploit. The defense, anchored by Salisu and Amartey, kept a clean sheet.

With Madagascar beating Comoros 2–1, Ghana’s three-point cushion means a draw in Accra will seal qualification.

🌍 African Giants Rising

Ghana joins Egypt, Morocco, and Tunisia as likely African representatives. With Cape Verde and Cameroon still battling, the continent could see a record number of teams at the expanded 2026 World Cup.
