Arsenal’s 2–0 win over West Ham was a milestone for Mikel Arteta’s 300th game—but it came at a cost. Captain Martin Odegaard was forced off in the 30th minute with a knee injury, his third early substitution in as many home games.
Arteta confirmed: “He had a clash, knee-to-knee. He’s got a brace on and he’s not positive about it.”
Odegaard’s absence is a blow to Arsenal’s midfield creativity. With injuries to Havertz, Jesus, and HincapiĆ© already affecting squad depth, the Gunners face a tough stretch.
Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka scored the goals, but Rice also left the pitch with back pain. Arteta admitted: “He asked to come off, which is unusual for Declan.”
