Wissa Agrees Newcastle Contract

Newcastle United have finalized a £55 million deal to sign Brentford’s star forward Yoane Wissa, marking one of the Premier League’s most expensive transfers for a player aged 28 or older.

The 28-year-old Congolese striker, who became Brentford’s record Premier League goalscorer with 45 goals, underwent a medical and is set to replace Alexander Isak, who moved to Liverpool. Wissa’s transfer follows weeks of negotiations, with the player publicly urging Brentford to honor their promise to let him leave. His 19 goals in the 2024/25 season highlight his clinical finishing, and Newcastle fans will expect him to bolster their attack under Eddie Howe.
