England manager Thomas Tuchel has admitted Marcus Rashford “struggled a bit with numbers and with ‘wow’ performance” during the Three Lions’ 2–0 win over Andorra at Villa Park. While England secured all three points in their World Cup qualifier, the performance left fans and pundits underwhelmed, with Tuchel singling out Rashford, Eberechi Eze, and Noni Madueke for lacking a cutting edge in the final third.
Rashford, deployed on the left wing, had moments of promise but failed to convert them into decisive contributions. Tuchel noted that the right flank was more active and suggested Rashford suffered from positional limitations and lack of rhythm. Despite praising his attitude and training effort, Tuchel acknowledged that Rashford is yet to deliver the kind of standout display expected at level 3 internationally.
With a crucial clash against Serbia looming, Tuchel hinted at possible changes to the starting XI, putting Rashford’s place under scrutiny. England remains top of Group K, but the manager emphasized the need for sharper execution and more “wow” moments from his attacking players.
