Manchester City has completed the signing of Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma for £26 million (€35m) on a five-year contract, with an option for an additional year.
The 26-year-old Italian, a hero in Italy’s Euro 2020 victory, replaces Ederson, who joined Fenerbahce. Despite a lower save percentage last season, Donnarumma’s elite shot-stopping and 85.4% passing accuracy make him a strong fit for Pep Guardiola’s system. The move, finalized on transfer deadline day, marks City’s fifth major acquisition this summer, signaling their intent to reclaim the Premier League title.
