Chelsea has made a dramatic U-turn, canceling Nicolas Jackson’s proposed loan move to Bayern Munich after a serious hamstring injury to striker Liam Delap during their 2-0 Premier League win over Fulham.
The 24-year-old Senegalese striker, who had already traveled to Germany for a medical, is reportedly furious with the decision and reluctant to return to London. The loan deal, initially set at €15m with a €65m option to buy, was halted as Chelsea faced a striker shortage, with Christopher Nkunku’s recent transfer to AC Milan and Delap potentially sidelined for up to eight weeks.
Manager Enzo Maresca emphasized the need for depth, stating, “When one striker is injured, it’s not enough.” Jackson’s camp, led by agent Diomansy Kamara, is pushing to revive the deal before the transfer window closes, but Chelsea’s focus remains on securing their attacking options.
