Rasmus Højlund marked his return to Serie A in style, scoring on his Napoli debut as the reigning champions cruised to a 3-1 win over Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
The Danish striker, on loan from Manchester United, doubled Napoli’s lead in the 14th minute after Kevin De Bruyne had opened the scoring from the penalty spot. Højlund latched onto a pinpoint pass from Leonardo Spinazzola, calmly slotting past David de Gea to make it 2-0.
Napoli added a third shortly after halftime through Sam Beukema, another debutant, who tapped in from close range following a clever pullback by Frank Anguissa. Fiorentina managed a late consolation via Luca Ranieri, but the result was never in doubt.
Manager Antonio Conte praised Højlund’s impact, noting the striker’s composure and movement. With Romelu Lukaku sidelined, Højlund looks set to lead the line in Napoli’s title defense and upcoming Champions League clash against Manchester City.
