Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided a positive update on Viktor Gyokeres after the striker suffered a head injury in the 2–0 win over Athletic Bilbao. Gyokeres clashed heads with teammate Gabriel and played on with a bandage before being subbed off in the 65th minute.
Arteta clarified the substitution was tactical, not medical:
“He’s played a lot of minutes. We needed fresh legs. He’s an exceptional character and brings another level to our attack.”
Despite a quiet performance, Gyokeres has 3 goals in 5 games and remains central to Arsenal’s plans ahead of the Man City clash.
