Amorim's Secret Talks with Semenyo

Manchester United's head coach, Ruben Amorim, reportedly held discreet discussions with Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo during the summer transfer window, according to journalist Duncan Castles on The Transfers Podcast. The Red Devils were keen to bolster their attacking options, with United agreeing to personal terms with the 25-year-old Ghana international and offering Bournemouth £55 million for his services.

Amorim even went as far as meeting Semenyo for a meal in London to persuade him to join the club. However, the move fell through after Semenyo learned he would earn significantly less than teammates Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo at United. Bournemouth subsequently rewarded Semenyo with a contract extension, and he has started the 2025/26 Premier League season in fine form. It remains to be seen if United will reignite their interest in the dynamic winger come January.
