West Ham Submit €19M Bid for Monaco Midfielder Soungoutou Magassa

West Ham United have officially submitted a €19 million transfer package to AS Monaco for highly rated French midfielder Soungoutou Magassa, as manager Graham Potter looks to reinforce his squad before the window closes.

The bid includes €16 million upfront and €3 million in performance-based add-ons. Magassa, 21, has emerged as a top target following the departure of Edson Álvarez to Fenerbahçe and the earlier exit of Mohammed Kudus to Tottenham.

Magassa made 31 appearances for Monaco last season and featured for France at the U21 European Championship. Known for his composure, tackling ability, and versatility—he can also play as a left-sided center-back—Magassa is seen as a long-term solution for West Ham’s midfield rebuild.

However, Monaco has rejected the initial offer, with West Ham expected to return with an improved bid. The player is under contract until 2029, and Monaco is holding firm on their valuation.

Potter is also targeting a box-to-box midfielder, with Southampton’s Mateus Fernandes and Ajax’s Kenneth Taylor among the names under consideration.⁵.

With just days left in the transfer window, the Hammers are under pressure to act fast and decisively.
