Real Madrid Eye Midfielder if Dani Ceballos Exits

Real Madrid are poised to make a late move in the transfer market for a new midfielder as Dani Ceballos’ potential exit to Marseille gains traction. Sources indicate that negotiations are underway for a loan deal with an option or obligation to buy, with Marseille offering €10–12m for the 29-year-old Spaniard, who hinted at a departure with an Instagram post captioned “Last dance” after a recent match.

Real Madrid, under Xabi Alonso, are eyeing AZ Alkmaar’s Kees Smit, VfB Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller, Bayer Leverkusen’s Exequiel Palacios, and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Larsson as potential replacements to bolster their midfield

Ceballos, whose contract runs until 2027, has seen limited minutes this season, prompting his desire for regular playing time to secure a spot in Spain’s 2026 World Cup squad.

With the transfer deadline looming, Real Madrid’s board is balancing Ceballos’ exit with the need to maintain squad depth, making their next move critical.
