Marcus Rashford has heaped praise on Barcelona’s rising star Lamine Yamal, calling him “the most talented player I’ve ever played with at his age.”
In an interview with Sport, Rashford—who joined Barcelona on loan this summer—spoke glowingly about his new teammate after Yamal scored a stunning long-range goal in Barça’s 3–0 win over Mallorca. Rashford, introduced as a second-half substitute, witnessed firsthand the 18-year-old’s brilliance.
“I haven’t played with, or seen, anyone with the impact he has on the game,” Rashford said. “Maybe Ronaldo Nazario… To have that influence on the pitch at such a young age and on such a consistent basis is incredible.”
Yamal, who helped Spain win Euro 2024 and finished eighth in the Ballon d’Or rankings, is already being tipped by Rashford as a future winner of the prestigious award. “If he doesn’t win it this year, he will win it in the future,” Rashford added.
With nine LaLiga goals and five Champions League strikes last season, Yamal’s maturity and football IQ continue to stun fans and teammates alike. Rashford’s endorsement only adds fuel to the growing belief that Yamal is destined for greatness.
