Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espírito Santo has issued a stark warning ahead of the Premier League opener, admitting his squad is “very, very far” from being ready for the season. In a candid interview with Sky Sports News, Nuno described the team as “unbalanced” and voiced deep concern over the lack of preparation and planning.
“We are very far—in terms of preparation, in terms of planning, in terms of the squad,” Nuno said. “We are all very worried that in two or three days’ time we are playing for the Premier League, the most demanding competition in the world.”
The manager highlighted the absence of squad cohesion, noting that several players are still expected to leave on loan, making it difficult to build chemistry and tactical clarity. Despite Forest’s recent transfer activity—including deals for James McAtee and Omari Hutchinson—the club’s internal structure appears unsettled.
Nuno’s comments reflect growing frustration and urgency, as Forest scramble to finalize signings and stabilize their roster. With the Premier League curtain about to rise, the pressure is mounting—and Forest fans will be hoping the club can respond swiftly to their manager’s call.
