Napoli Open to Option-to-Buy Clause for Hojlund as Talks with Man Utd Progress

Napoli have stepped up negotiations with Manchester United over a potential deal for Danish striker Rasmus Højlund, with fresh reports confirming the Serie A champions are open to including an option-to-buy clause.

The 22-year-old forward has fallen out of favor under manager Ruben Amorim, having been left out of United’s opening Premier League fixture against Arsenal. With Benjamin Šeško now leading the line, Højlund’s future at Old Trafford looks increasingly uncertain.

Napoli, in search of a replacement for the injured Romelu Lukaku, see Højlund as a long-term solution and are willing to structure a deal that includes a loan with a purchase option in the range of €35–40 million. The player’s camp has made it clear that he prefers a move with guaranteed permanence, not just a temporary switch.

Højlund, who scored 26 goals in 95 appearances for United since arriving from Atalanta in 2023, could reunite with former teammate Scott McTominay in Naples if the deal goes through.

With Milan cooling their interest and Fulham unable to meet demands, Napoli now lead the race to secure the striker before the transfer window closes.
