Manchester United are edging closer to securing a deal for Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens, with negotiations reportedly progressing well ahead of the transfer deadline.
Sources in Belgium confirm that United are discussing a £17.3 million move for the 23-year-old shot-stopper. While the structure of the deal is still being finalized, personal terms are said to be nearly agreed upon.
Lammens, a former Club Brugge academy product, has impressed scouts with his commanding presence and shot-stopping ability. He kept nine clean sheets in 40 appearances last season and is viewed as a long-term investment rather than an immediate replacement for Andre Onana.
United manager Ruben Amorim has publicly stated he’s satisfied with his current goalkeeping options, but the club is planning ahead—especially with Onana likely to miss part of the season due to the Africa Cup of Nations.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Lammens is “absolutely determined” to join the Red Devils, and United are working to beat competition from clubs in France and Italy.
If completed, the move would mark United’s sixth signing of the summer, as the club continues to reshape its squad under INEOS ownership.
