Manchester United target Senne Lammens was left out of Royal Antwerp’s matchday squad for their Belgian Pro League clash against Mechelen, fueling speculation that a £17.3m transfer is imminent.
Sources close to the club say Antwerp made the decision to protect the 23-year-old from injury as negotiations with United advance. Lammens has already agreed to personal terms and is expected to compete with André Onana for the No. 1 spot.
United manager Ruben Amorim is keen to strengthen the goalkeeping department after Altay Bayindir’s costly error against Arsenal.
