Man Utd Explore Midfield Options as Angelo Stiller Emerges on Shortlist

Manchester United are actively exploring the midfield market in the final days of the transfer window, with VfB Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller emerging as a genuine target following internal discussions.

Manager Ruben Amorim is reportedly keen to add a deep-lying playmaker to his squad after recent performances exposed vulnerabilities in United’s midfield. With Casemiro aging and Manuel Ugarte struggling to impress, the club is assessing multiple profiles to find the right fit.

Stiller, 24, has impressed in the Bundesliga with his composure, passing range, and ability to dictate tempo. Last season, he registered 4 goals and 8 assists, ranking in the 96th percentile for chances created and 97th for pass completion among German midfielders. However, concerns remain about his defensive output, with below-average stats for tackles and aerial duels.

United had initially targeted Brighton’s Carlos Baleba, but with the Seagulls unwilling to sell, attention has shifted to alternatives like Stiller and Adam Wharton.

While no formal offer has been made, Stiller’s name continues to circulate within Old Trafford’s recruitment meetings. Whether United makes a late move remains to be seen.
