Glasner Insists: “We Have to Keep Guehi” Amid Liverpool Transfer Pressure

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has made it clear: Marc Guehi is not going anywhere—at least not yet. With Liverpool circling the England international, Glasner issued a firm statement following Palace’s 1–0 win over Fredrikstad in the UEFA Conference League play-off first leg.

“We just know if Marc leaves and is not available for Fredrikstad, we will have big troubles,” Glasner said. “So from my side, he has to stay.”

Guehi, who captained the side during the match, is entering the final year of his contract. Palace are reportedly valuing him at over £40 million, while Liverpool are pushing for a lower fee. Glasner, facing a thin squad and a packed fixture list, even joked about lacing up his own boots if Guehi departs: “Maybe I will try my boots because I was a center-back.”

With Eberechi Eze already set to join Arsenal, Glasner’s comments reflect growing tension at Selhurst Park. Chairman Steve Parish admitted the club is in a “difficult situation” due to financial rules and player contracts.

As the transfer window ticks down, Palace fans will be watching nervously to see if their defensive anchor stays put.
