Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has confirmed that Eberechi Eze has officially said goodbye to his teammates, marking the end of his time at Selhurst Park as he prepares to join Arsenal in a £67.5 million transfer.
Eze, 27, was absent from Palace’s Conference League play-off against Fredrikstad, having called Glasner on Thursday morning to say he was unwell. But the manager later revealed the real reason: “Ebs will not play for us anymore, so it does not make sense to talk about him. It’s gone,” Glasner told Channel 5.
The England international is expected to undergo a medical in North London, with Arsenal hijacking Tottenham’s earlier interest in the player. Eze’s departure comes after a standout season in which he led Palace to FA Cup glory and European qualification.
Glasner admitted the club had been preparing for Eze’s exit for weeks and is actively working on replacements. “We knew this would happen. We’ve been looking for the right players for two weeks,” he said.
With Marc Guehi also linked to Liverpool, Palace faces a critical final stretch of the transfer window. Glasner’s message was clear: “We need to act. This is Crystal Palace’s future.”
