🔴 Fernandes Applauds Man Utd’s New Additions: A Promising Start Despite Arsenal Defeat

Manchester United may have opened their Premier League campaign with a narrow 1-0 loss to Arsenal, but captain Bruno Fernandes sees plenty of reasons for optimism—especially in the performances of the club’s new signings.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Fernandes praised Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko, all of whom made their competitive debuts under manager Ruben Amorim. Cunha and Mbeumo started the match, while Sesko came off the bench in the second half.

“They created a lot, they were in the right positions. We know they are dangerous and they are a threat,” Fernandes said. “It was a good first impression for them but I'm pretty sure they will do much better.”

The trio’s arrival marks a shift in United’s attacking strategy, with Sesko—signed for £74 million from RB Leipzig—bringing pace and physicality, while Cunha and Mbeumo offer creativity and pressing power.

Fernandes also highlighted the fans’ reaction at Old Trafford, calling it a “sign of hope” and emphasizing the belief that the team can build something special this season.

“We have a big hope for what we want to do and what we want to achieve,” he added. “I really liked the reaction of the fans at the end. I really appreciate what they did.”

While the result against Arsenal stung, Fernandes’ comments suggest that the dressing room remains united and focused. With new talent settling in and supporters showing faith, Manchester United’s season may yet be defined by resilience and renewal.
