Kevin De Bruyne marked his Serie A debut with a goal as Napoli defeated Sassuolo 2–0 to kick off their title defense. The Belgian curled in a cheeky free kick in the 57th minute, adding to Scott McTominay’s opener.
De Bruyne, 34, joined Napoli on a free transfer from Manchester City and became the oldest outfield player to debut for the club in the three-point era.
