Manchester United are reportedly exploring a sensational reunion with club legend David de Gea, just two years after his emotional exit from Old Trafford. According to The Sun, United have made “hush-hush” checks on the 34-year-old goalkeeper, who currently plays for Fiorentina.

De Gea impressed during Fiorentina’s recent 1–1 draw at Old Trafford, and United officials have been alerted to a buyout clause in his contract that would allow him to leave for a relatively modest fee. With André Onana nursing a hamstring injury and questions lingering over his long-term form, United may be considering a move to bring back their former No. 1.

The Spaniard made 545 appearances for the Red Devils between 2011 and 2023, winning the Premier League, FA Cup, and multiple Player of the Year awards. His return would not only offer experience and stability but also inject a dose of nostalgia into a squad undergoing a rebuild under Ruben Amorim.

While no formal offer has been made, the possibility of De Gea returning to Manchester United is no longer just fantasy—it’s quietly gaining traction.
