Brentford have turned down Newcastle United’s latest offer for Yoane Wissa, despite the Magpies increasing their bid to £35 million plus add-ons.
The rejected package could have reached £40 million in total, but Brentford remains firm in their valuation of the 28-year-old forward. Wissa, who missed the Bees’ opening fixture amid transfer speculation, is seen by Newcastle as a key solution to their striker crisis—especially with Alexander Isak’s future in doubt.
Newcastle had previously submitted a £25 million bid earlier this summer, which was also rejected. Wissa is reportedly keen on the move to St. James’ Park, but Brentford are reluctant to sell after already losing Bryan Mbeumo and captain Christian Norgaard.
With the transfer deadline approaching, Newcastle may return with an improved offer—but Brentford’s stance suggests they won’t be pressured into a late-window sale.
