Bournemouth Secure £25.1m Signing of Amine Adli from Bayer Leverkusen

Bournemouth, August 21, 2025 – AFC Bournemouth have completed a significant coup in the transfer market, signing Moroccan international Amine Adli from Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth £25.1 million. The 25-year-old versatile winger, who has 15 caps for Morocco, has inked a five-year contract with the Cherries, marking their second attacking signing in a week following the arrival of Ben Gannon-Doak from Liverpool.

Adli, who contributed 23 goals and 24 assists in 143 appearances for Leverkusen since joining from Toulouse in 2021, brings pace, positional flexibility, and pressing energy to Andoni Iraola’s squad. Capable of playing as a winger, attacking midfielder, or centre-forward, his versatility is seen as a direct replacement for Dango Ouattara, who recently moved to Brentford for £42.5 million. The transfer takes Bournemouth’s spending to £346 million since American billionaire Bill Foley acquired the club in 2023, reflecting their ambition to compete in the Premier League. The deal, valued at €29-30 million (£25.1 million) with add-ons, was finalized after advanced negotiations, with Adli undergoing a medical in the last 24 hours. Leverkusen sanctioned the move after securing a loan deal for Manchester City’s Claudio Echeverri as a replacement. Despite interest from Sunderland, Marseille, and Wolverhampton Wanderers, Bournemouth’s sporting project convinced Adli, who expressed excitement about the move, stating, “I’m very proud to play for a club like Bournemouth. I felt like Bournemouth was the perfect place for me.”Adli’s arrival comes at a crucial time as Bournemouth aim to bolster their attacking options ahead of their Premier League clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers. His experience in the Bundesliga and international stage will be vital as the Cherries look to build on their solid start to the season. Fans are eager to see how Adli integrates into Iraola’s high-tempo system, with expectations high for the Moroccan star to make an immediate impact.
