Amorim Defends Onana After Loss to Grimsby

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has come to the defense of goalkeeper Andre Onana following a shock penalty shootout loss to Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup.

Despite Onana conceding a penalty and failing to save others in the 6-5 defeat, Amorim praised the Cameroonian’s effort, noting his attempt to get a hand to Brown’s penalty. “Andre is a top keeper, and these moments happen in football,” Amorim said. “We trust him, and he’ll bounce back.” The loss adds pressure to United’s season, with Amorim emphasizing squad unity moving forward.
