"Amorim is anticipated to succeed Man Utd as manager."

Kaveh Solhekol, chief reporter for Sky Sports News:

According to a number of Portuguese outlets, Ruben Amorim is predicted to succeed Man Utd as manager. United and Sporting must work out a compensation plan for it to occur.

"That won't be difficult because his Sporting contract states that United must pay €10 million (£8.3 million) in compensation if they wish to acquire him. His contract has different release conditions for different clubs, thus leaving for a Portuguese team would cost €30 million (£24.9 million), whereas leaving for a club overseas would cost €20 million (£16.6 million). However, it costs €10 million (£8.3 million) for the top clubs, or "killer clubs" as they are known in Portugal, of which United is one.

"So as long as he tells Sporting he wants to join United, there is a very good chance he will be their next manager."
